A Quiet Place: Day One

There's a formula here.

I watched this today. We all know the story of the creatures, and how you don't make a sound if you want to live, but we still don't know exactly who they are or where they're from.

There are the typical tropes in this movie. A War of the Worlds evacuation Tom Cruise movie style, someone making noise to distract the creatures while someone else gets away, and the usual gloomy ending.

The one big difference here is that we find out what the creatures eat, and that they dine communally.

Will YOU be watching this?

I will watch it because I like the idea of it all playing out in cities and towns rather than the post-apocalyptic setting of the first two films. But I need it to step up.

AQP was good on first watch but when I watched it a second time I was really put off by how stupid everyone is in the film.

AQP2 took that and ran with it. It's just a film about idiot children doing dumb shit. It's so stupid that it's almost unwatchable for me.

I'm hoping Day One fixes all that.
