The Strangers franchiser
The Strangers Chapter 1 comes out late May, and I think Chapters 2 and 3 come out this year as well. The three original strangers are in this movie.
The trailer for Chapter 1 is out. It shows a couple alone in an isolated cabin early in the morning (2PM?) when the three knocks come and the girl asks for Tamara. They've been looking for Tamara a long time now.
What's your opinion of this franchise?

I'm fine with it. The original movie was one of my best cinema experiences ever. Looking forward to more movies being made, unless they become repetitive or something.

I love the 1st original films The Strangers and The Strangers: Prey at Night it was something new during its Era tbh and it helped made a Trope for the thriller mixed horror genre.
I already don't like the redesign of the Man Behind the Mask because the suit was iconic but I'll have my hopes up.

Yeah, I noticed that mask. I wonder if this is just a total redesign or if it was a mask he switched to or out of.
Personally, I liked these movies. Do you think they may have set the stage for home invasion movies?

And a lot of movies are repetitive. Let's hope this franchise stays somewhat fresh.

Re: The Strangers franchiser
I just watched the Chapter 1 movie.
It's okay. The caveat here is that it's paced like the first movie. It has a lot of the tension building moments of the first movie. You can see where the movie is headed.
A couple differences here is that this takes place near a small town where everyone knows each other and there's a missing person poster in the diner, and you're fully aware of how the person went missing. Our two main characters see some of the creepy locals who run the beat-up garage by the diner. And naturally, the diner staff doesn't have much use for those who follow the vegan diet.
It might be worth your time to watch.

I didn't hate it, but consider it a bit forgettable, to be honest. Can't even tell you a single name of a character or actor just out of my head.

I sat and watched it twice and it had a good little Thriller/Action for a sequel in my opinion they should have done a 3rd one before rebooting it. :^/

TBH, if you DID watch Chapter 1, you'd think it was a lot like the first one.
