Vera's Mom knew right?

That's why she was arguing with Vera and didn't want her to go? Was on the news the night before and they picked her up the next morning

I can't imagine why else not

Unless she just knew her daughter was gonna go get drunk and high and was trying to stop her

Either could be a reasonble explanation for why her mother tried to stop her, hell it could be just to stop her daughter from having sex and well getting pregnant.

True. Just a thought. I guess if it had been regarding the news Vera would have said something especially when they saw the cops?

It's possible her mother was just "old school" and kept a tight rein on Vera's whereabouts. Of course, Vera was going to do her own thing, and she DID rebuff Shelley.

That is also true and I hate people think its old school when its a parent being a parent.
