going back to the name crystal lake

in pt 6 we had it as forest green then went back to crystal lake in pt 7

why do you think?

I say a new mayor came into town, knew about the history and changed the name back as a tourist attraction

This is a great way for tourists to go missing and never come back. And of course, there's always someone dumb enough to try and open a summer camp on the lake.

But hey, a town's gotta make money, right????

Definitely!!

More than likely because Jason had been in the lake for several possibly 10-15 or more years they the people / government/ Mayor / decided let’s go back to our history and heritage and reclaim Crystal Lake as the name now that Jason has been gone.

A bit of Headcanon for this one but again its likely haha.

Scenerio 1: They changed their name because of tourism and that they could make some money or even historic history with the legend of Camp Crystal Lake, more than rebranding and having to deal with changes on a resources end (aka businesses, websites, maps, and etc) so it makes sense they changed it back from Forest Green to Crystal Lake again.

Scenerio 2: Many years passed again, as @OCT 31 1978 also mentioned a time-skip with statements from the late-great John Carl Buechler that it was a 10-Year Gap between Jason Lives and The New Blood, I believe the town was more than happy to be originally called Crystal Lake after so many years had passed from the events of Tommy Jarvis.
