The Mist Empty The Mist

This 2007 movie was an adaptation of a Stephen King Story.

How'd you like this movie, and what did you think of the ending?

Man that Ending jaw dropped me…. It was really sad to see honestly.
I don’t know if you watched the tv series of the same name…. If not don’t bother it is soooooo boring and not the same as the movie…. It really lost sight of the story it was trying to tell.

For ME, it DID seem like a waste. Waiting 5 minutes would have been good.

What struck me most about this movie was that how it showed how quickly mankind can descend into religious fervor and madness in the face of horrifying danger. From the men unwilling to escort a mother home to her kids to the religious nutjob able to convert half the store and make sacrifices to the creatures was more frightening than the actual monsters, minus the creepy spiders in the pharmacy of course. To me, the true hero and anchor for humanity was Ollie, who kept a level head throughout the movie. The fact that the sensible people were outnumbered shows we don't have a chance if a tragedy like this actually happened. The deaths at the end were tragic and heartbreaking, but I can't fault him for not knowing what was hidden in the mist, either another threat or salvation. One can only hope we can learn from this example and come together when we need each other, or we will end up like Rhomas Jane. Cheers, and game on, my friends

We should have had a sequel to be honest.

What could have gone into a sequel?

Thomas Jane attempting to penetrate the lab where the breach originated. Granted, that would be entering Stranger Things territory but in the sequel he would trying to make the scientists pay for opening the breach and letting the creatures into our world

I loved the novella. I liked the movie. I was disturbed by the ending but I guess that was the whole point. Stephen King liked it. I've yet to watch the series though.

A resurgance from another location this time something smaller and the monsters are more vicious than before.
