the dumbest characters

In your opinion, who were some really dumb characters? Was Ned dumb for going to check out a noise in the original movie? Was Donnie in the 2009 movie a wee bit slow in the IQ department?

Who do YOU see as dumb?

I mean if being realistic any character who knew of the legend of Jason lol and still went to the camp.

Lol yeah I agree with Jason Voorhees. On this one anyone who has heard and knew about the legend and still went to Crystal Lake are pretty Dumb.

But in this franchise there are a lot of dumb characters some more than others….some will disagree with me but one of the dumbest is Tommy Jarvis…..
In Jason Lives…….Jason is dead and buried and has been for years….. without his stupid actions many others would have not been killed by an Undead unkillable monster.
His actions though they make for great movies lol brought Jason back worse than he was in the 1st 4 movies…..powerful and continuously coming back.

Personally, I thought Alice was dumb for not taking Pamela's Jeep and escaping when she had the chance. She'd already seen a few dead bodies so Annie's body shouldn't have been a deterrent

Chelsea from the 2009 reboot who was played by Willa Ford was kind of dumb to me. She gets scared and hides under a dock. How about you try and find a shallow part of the lake away from Jason and run? I just always thought it was dumb how she tried to hide under the dock with slats in the wood where he could’ve easily seen her. To her credit though, she may not have been thinking clearly because she got hit in the head right before but still, I just thought that was kind of dumb.

Also, the space marine who had Jason on the hook and turned away even when Brosky ordered to keep his eyes on him. When you're dealing with someone you know has killed others, you never take chances

Agreed and the same with the guy who was guarding Jason at the beginning of Jason X and put a blanket over him. That also I believe knocked the IV out which was keeping him sedated. That guy was dumb. I get he was showing off for his gf, at least in the extended version or the novelization, but still, he pretty much allowed Jason to wake up and destroy everyone.

Let's face it... For most horror movies to exist as they do, it's kind of a prerequisite for most of the characters to kind of be idiots. It's stupidity based on horror movie logic rather than normal stupid, but dumb is still dumb.

Without Dumb people in these movies we don’t have movies to entertain us.

Bless the idiots and jerks in horror movies. Some of the highlights are when they buy the farm. Those are the times you cheer when the killer takes them out. Paris Hilton in House of Wax. Need I say more? I've never heard such cheering in a movie theater when the pipe went through her head lol

I wouldn't say " kind of " dumb. I'd say flat out dumb. But you DO have a point.

I always found it odd that the ONE time the police actually named Jason the killer was the time he wasn't, except for Pamela, of course. They could never get it right. Pity that police wasn't around for the other movies or Jason might have caught sooner lol

Exactly! I wouldn’t have pulled the prank in front of them that those two did in the movie because knowing those cops, those people were liable to get shot.
