Best atmosphere?

I felt Part 2 had the best atmosphere.

I just thought the setting was perfect and it really had a summertime vibe of partying

ANyone agree or do you feel different?

Good post! Hmmm I stuck between the Part 7 atmosphere of party summer nighttime (even tho in real life it was winter weather) and between Part 1 campy summer break and its almost time for camping season, those were the best feelings because Jason and Pamela were their best.

But I def agree Part 3 summertime vibe of partying is fitting for any Friday the 13th film.

I always liked the way 2 felt like a natural extension to part 1 down to the tone (at least, to me it did).

The summer campy feelings?

Part 2 has a great atmosphere but I feel Jason Lives has the best in the entire franchise..... it made summer camp creepy having the kids at camp.... and the build up of Jason coming back home to camp stalking the counselors and police officers and crashing through the cabin to get Megan..... just fantastic.

I just didnt think PART 6 had a full summertime vibe

I don’t know, the bus load of kids coming to camp and day time scenes seem pretty summery to me..... the Night scene do come off cold and spooky..... with fog and windy breezes.

Part 6 was good to but had a fall vibe to me

I can see that especially in the night scenes.

Jason Lives is my favorite Friday I just love the overall atmosphere not just the summer themes...
I especially love the build up towards the climax of the film with Jason stalking the campers cops and counselors.
Not to mention the final flaming showdown at the lake.

Yeah Part 6 had the Part 4+Part 3 feel of it being a Summer theme BUT with a more thriller atmosphere.

I should give more credit to Friday the 13th the original, when Jack and marcie are talking and the storm rolls in and they do those shots of the incoming storm. Very nice

Also Marcie’s rain drops that turn into blood and wash away in red rivers….. love that set up of impending doom.

I love almost all of the atmospheres from the Friday the 13th franchises, Part 5 was trying to hard for dark comedy, Part 9 was more of an action/supernatural atmosphere which didn't fit it so much as Jason wasn't the main figure we saw the killing with, and Jason X atmosphere wasn't really notable unless you watch it a few times and try to figure it out.

Part 2 and Part 4 to me have the best atmospheres. They feel like the 80s but in a good way. What I mean by that is the first four always felt like these innocent movies and completely different from everything else. I still enjoy them all but for me, the first four are kind of their own thing that were still new. You can just kick back, have a drink and enjoy the ride.

Someone pointed out in a Friday the 13th article that Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood has the same element of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter.

I don't truly see it I gotta watch both multiple times to get an accurate perspective.

I think it was in Crystal Lake Memories the director of The New Blood was told to pretty much copy Part IV so that could be what they mean.

I can see it, they both had a "colder" atmosphere with the night scenes

For some reason, I feel like the atmospheres in Parts 2 and IV are more similar to me. Just back to basics with a story about a bunch of people we all care about.
