why did jason care about renee so much in pt 8

seemed like she was his main goal...but why?

i cant think of a reason

there's no way he remembered her from when she was little and now thats her

It's been a while since I saw this movie. Unless he was channeling his inner Michael Myers going after a specific target, I'm not sure.

It's due to the fact her and Jason had some unknown history (the Flashback scenes) but it still doesn't make sense because there is no connection.

She was afraid of water after being pushed in and may have been told Jason was in the water looking for victims. McCollough had the kind of mind to tell a little kid that.

Yes there is no connection. That's what doesn't make sense. Renee was a little girl then, Jason wasn't a zombie. Did he remember her? It's like no one but her was the main focus once they got off the ship

I just realized Jason is a Boomer...with lakeside real-estate.
Maybe Jason had a crush on her...but couldn't find the right words to say. Well not until the end when he was blabbing about his mama and barfing.
