Great question. Do you think Pinehurst would have kept a closer eye on the residents knowing Jason and the town's history? Or did they get lazy thinking Jason was dead? I'm sure they had to know Tommy's history at Pinehurst.

Yes, Pinehurst was in New Jersey, and was near Crystal Lake, and plus Roy had access to files as well, behind the scenes it could explain more of how and why Roy, picked Jason, but it's up to our own Headcanon.
